Workshop Schedule 

 

The Center for Entrepreneurship offers a variety of workshops designed to help entrepreneurs plan and start building every aspect of their business, from the core idea to the product and revenue model. Each bi-weekly session lasts about 1 hour and is led by Center staff and topical experts who provide their advice and critical feedback.

Location: Center for Entrepreneurship in Walker College of Business, Peacock Hall 416 Howard St

Goal: Learn, Network, and Grow in Entrepreneurial Skillsets

 

SESSION 1: VISION AND GOALS

September 30th, 2016. 2-4pm

Figure out where you’re going and how you plan to get there. Define a vision statement for your new company and set goals necessary to achieve that vision. Leave this workshop with a clear vision for the next 12 months and a list of milestones you intend to hit.

 

SESSION 2: MARKET RESEARCH AND COMPETITION

October 21st, 2016. 2-4pm

Know what you’re getting into. Understand where your industry is going and how you plan to differentiate your business from your competitors.  Leave this workshop with a clear definition of your company’s value proposition.

SESSION 3: IDEAL CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT

November 4th, 2016. 2-4pm

There is no substitute for talking to your customers and confirming that they are willing to trade their dollars for your product or service.  Define your ideal customer and leave this workshop with a plan to find them and engage them.

SESSION 4: PREPARING THE PITCH

November 18th, 2016. 2-4pm

Convince investors to invest, customers to buy, and partners to get on board.  Every entrepreneur needs to tell their story and compel their audience to take action. Leave this workshop with a strong pitch and the confidence to deliver it.

SESSION 5: TEAMBUILDING AND ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

January 27th, 2017. 2-4pm

A strong team and a capable network of advisors is critical. Identify the strengths on the team and plan to extend your network to fill in the blanks. Leave this workshop with a communication plan to keep the extended team healthy and strong.

SESSION 6: SALES, MARKETING, AND BRANDING

February 24th, 2017. 2-4pm

“Build it and they will come” only works in the movies. Go out and find your customers and help them realize they need you. Leave this workshop with a marketing plan and a sales strategy to drive revenue and reinforce your brand.

SESSION 7: OPERATIONS AND SCALE

March 31st, 2017. 2-4pm

Be careful what you wish for. When all of your marketing and sales efforts begin to pay off, have a plan to ramp your business and enable it to scale. Leave this workshop with a plan to meet today’s demand efficiently and be prepared for future growth.

SESSION 8: GRADUATION

April 28th, 2017. 2-4pm

Congratulations for completing the FastTrack program! Take one day to celebrate and then back to work.
